I live in the central region of the USA: Tulsa, OK (ok, more accurately Sand Springs, OK, which is just down the road a bit.). I remember from many science documentaries that, during the time of the dinosaurs, the middle of the continental USA was once an (relatively) shallow inland sea. So tell me, after all that frozen water is once again liberated– Will my house be gaining an ocean view as it becomes beach-front property?

Nah. The main reason why it’s not a sea anymore is because the whole landmass raised a lot.
What would Staten Island look like?
